With the LPX-510, Yamaha makes it easy to enjoy widescreen movies at home with beautiful film-like picture quality.
Yamaha “Natural Black” concept When you watch a movie, shadows should stand out from the background, black levels should be solid even in dark scenes, and blacks should maintain their depth when the scene becomes brighter. This is exactly what happens with Yamaha “Natural Black”. Because even though it’s usually the bright colours that you notice, how a video system reproduces gradations of black is extremely important. This is what determines contrast, and is very often the difference between an image that is merely good, and one that is sharp and rich at every level of brightness. Yamaha put a great deal of effort into improving black reproduction, and with “Natural Black”, we’ve achieved deeper levels of black than those of conventional projectors.
High performance LCD panels The LPX-510 LCD panels are capable of projecting high resolution 720p (1280 x 720-pixel) HDTV images. It uses 10-bit video processing, giving it the ability to reproduce 1.07 billion colours. The projector’s 16:9 aspect ratio compatibility means that widescreen movies can be viewed in their entirety, with the correct perspective, while its 1,000 ANSI lumens brightness allows the projector to be used even in relatively bright rooms.
3D linear colour balance The LPX-510 uses three TFT Active Matrix LCD panels to create the image. The 3D linear colour balance function helps maintain the proper balance between the three signals, adjusting colour irregularities through a range of correction points, for accurate colour in any type of scene from dark to bright.
Cinema Balance filter The LPX-510 introduces a new Cinema Balance filter that enhances colour reproduction when viewing in a dark room, such as typically used for movies. The colour reproduction range covers the HD monitor standard.
Lens shift for flexible positioning Vertical and horizontal lens shift capability means that the projector does not have to be carefully positioned directly in front of the screen. The maximum range of movement is 100% vertically and 50% horizontally, much greater than conventional projectors.
Extensive image control Six picture modes provide a variety of colour and brightness balance settings by adjusting the gamma values, the Cinema Balance Filter and the lamp power to optimise the picture for varying home theatre conditions.
Motorised iris control The motorised iris control function can be used to improve contrast and focusing, and to give the image a more three-dimensional feel. Settings can be adjusted in six steps and stored in the picture memory. There are also six lamp power settings, providing a total of 36 brightness variations.
Short focus lens with high power zoom The LPX-510 has a short focus lens so it can be used closer to the screen. This provides numerous benefits: more flexible placement, positioning the projector “up front” out of the middle of the seating area, and use in relatively small rooms. With a 253cm screen, the projector requires only 2.8m of distance to the screen. The motorised zoom control will expand the image up to 1.5 times to give you a closer view of the scene and for projecting a 16:9 picture on a 4:3 screen.
Custom installation solutions The LPX-510 features a powerful DC12V, max. 200mA trigger out function for custom installation use.
DCDi processing Faroudja, one of the world’s leading video technology companies, developed the DCDi processing used in this projector. It ensures smooth and natural images without staircasing or jaggies.
Lamp power selector The multi-step lamp power selector makes it possible to adjust for optimum brightness and contrast with different levels of room lighting and video sources. Lower power settings will extend lamp life, reduce power consumption and reduce cooling fan noise.
HDMI terminal The LPX510 has an HDMI connection, capable of handling not only digital signals like DVI, but a variety of other information as well, such as component type, scan status and colourimetry, all of which can be adjusted.
